Understanding the world

Children are supported as they make sense of their physical world and the community they are part of, the experiences children have help to develop their knowledge of the world around them. We also recognise that language is developed through experiences and staff support children as they learn new words and model how to use them. Children will enjoy a range of stories, non-fiction, rhymes and poems to consider similarities and differences between themselves and others in their community as they develop their understanding of different faiths and cultures. Children will also consider how we look after the world we live in.
