Becoming a Governor

On appointment as a Governor the Clerk will provide you with an welcome pack and you will be appointed a mentor, who will be another member of the Governing Body. You will be required to attend the full Governing Body meetings, and those of the Committee you become a member of. Before each meeting you will be provided with the Agenda and all supporting documentation to enable you to understand the purpose of the meeting and focus your thoughts on the items to be discussed.

As Governor it is important to get to know and take an interest in the school. You will be encouraged to undertake training to enable you to undertake your role to the best of your ability.

The Headteacher, Staff, Clerk and Governors at the school are all very friendly and approachable, and willing to answer any questions you may have about being part of the school’s Governing Body.
